We are happy to announce that we have been named as a supplier on the Crown Commercial Service’s flagship procurement framework, G-Cloud 12.
If you’re not already familiar with G-Cloud, it’s a framework that’s a key part of the UK government’s push for a ‘cloud first’ strategy for the public sector. Its aim is to reduce technology costs for the public sector and to improve efficiency. For SMEs like Ocucon, it gives us the opportunity to bid alongside larger organisations.
Our appointment to G-Cloud means that Pixelate, our video redaction software solution, is pre-approved by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) for supply to public sector organisations, without them needing to go through a full tender or competition procurement process.
Pixelate is already in use by numerous public sector organisations. Such organisations, for instance local councils, process a massive amount of CCTV footage. With no sector being safe from ICO enforcement of GDPR, public sector organisations need reliable, secure, and cost effective solutions for GDPR compliance.
Under GDPR, individuals have the right to request a copy of their image, such as a clip from video surveillance footage. All organisations must be prepared to handle such requests, and this affects the public sector in particular as they handle a lot of footage. Before releasing any video footage as part of a subject access request, any images of any present third parties in the footage must be redacted. Pixelate is a SaaS solution that provides intelligent automated video redaction. It accepts all video formats and subscriptions start from as little as £25 per month, making it ideal for any public sector organisation.
The public sector is a key focus for us, and spends an estimated £200bn a year buying services. In 2019/20, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits worth over £1bn - supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers. It’s evident that G-Cloud is successfully reducing what can be a lengthy, costly full tender procurement process for buyers, whilst retaining the quality of services. Pixelate can be found on the CCS Digital Marketplace here.
